Department Overview
Kittitas County Fire District 1 provides fire protection and emergency response services to the rural communities surrounding Thorp, Washington, along the Interstate 90 corridor west of Ellensburg. The district serves a largely agricultural and wildland-urban interface area where reliable apparatus and water supply capabilities are essential for both structure and wildland fire response.
Community & Response
This tactical tender, built on a surplus LMTV military chassis, provides Kittitas County Fire District 1 with a highly capable water supply unit designed for off-road access and rural response. The apparatus will support water shuttle operations, wildland incidents, and mutual aid responses throughout Kittitas County where terrain and limited hydrant infrastructure often require dependable mobile water supply.
