Department Overview
Orting Valley Fire & Rescue, based in east Pierce County, WA, serves the growing city of Orting and surrounding valley areas. Their district spans approximately 33 square miles and includes a mix of suburban development and forested hills, serving nearly 15,000 people.
Community & Response
This unit enhances Orting’s readiness during peak wildfire season and supports backroad response in hilly terrain near Mt. Rainier. It plays a key role in protecting homes at the WUI edge and in supporting mutual aid with neighboring agencies.
