Department Overview
Kittitas County Fire District #7 serves the City of Cle Elum and surrounding upper Kittitas County communities in central Washington. The department provides fire suppression, emergency medical, and rescue services across a diverse area that includes residential neighborhoods, forested hillsides, and major transportation routes through the Cascade foothills.
Community & Response
Covering a broad mix of mountain terrain and wildland-urban interface zones, the district responds to a variety of incidents from structure fires to mutual aid wildland deployments. The department recently added two new KME K180 4×4 Pumpers, each featuring substantial customization, integrated storage solutions, and aftermarket EZ Trac 4×4 conversions. These modern units replace over a decade-old first-out engines—enhancing response capability, reliability, and operational flexibility for the citizens of Cle Elum and the surrounding Kittitas Valley.
