South Tongass Volunteer Fire Department, near Ketchikan, Alaska, serves an island-based, remote population of about 2,500 residents spread across rugged coastline and forest. The district operates in challenging weather and terrain conditions with volunteer staffing and limited access infrastructure.
Community & Response
Built for the harsh coastal and mountainous conditions of Southeast Alaska, this quint enables aerial firefighting, water flow, and rescue operations in one platform. Delivered in just 10 months, it drastically enhances South Tongass’ multi-mission capabilities.
